Superfine Alpaca Speckledy DK by UK Alpaca is a beautifully balanced alpaca wool blend spun from 75% British superfine alpaca and 25% wool. Manufactured mainly in the UK using the traditional worsted process, this DK yarn has a soft, refined handle with excellent loft, giving warmth without heaviness and a fabric that knits up smoothly with gentle structure.

The Speckledy range is created using a carefully blended melange of black, dark brown and red-brown alpaca fibres mixed with white wool to form a natural grey base, which is then overdyed to produce the distinctive speckled shades in the collection. The result is depth of colour and subtle tonal variation throughout your finished piece.

The alpaca fibre is sourced from UK Alpaca’s own herd as well as alpaca farms across the UK and Ireland, with fleece graded and processed to ensure consistent quality and full provenance.
